Pocono Reserve (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent travel guide to the Pocono Mountains. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
We don't take bookings or payments, so we never collect card or payment details. Stays are booked on third-party platforms, which handle your booking information under their own privacy policies.
2. Information You Give Us
We only collect what you choose to send:
- Contact form: your name, email address and message
- Newsletter: your email address
- Trip planner: your first name, email address and the trip details you enter, such as dates, group type and size, interests, area and budget
- Private chef and catering requests: your name, contact details and event details, such as date, location, group size and the kind of meal or service you want
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to see how the site is used: pages viewed, links clicked (including which booking links are clicked, though not what you book), approximate location, device and browser type. We use Google Analytics and PostHog for this. We also use the Google Ads tag to measure whether our own Google ads lead to visits, and Google may use its cookies to show our ads to people who have visited the site.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Reply to your messages
- Send the newsletter, if you subscribed; you can unsubscribe at any time from any email
- Build and send your trip plan
- Pass chef and catering requests to the partner we recommend (see section 5)
- Understand how the site is used and improve our guides
- Keep the site secure and meet legal obligations
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to do what you asked, or to run the site:
- Chef and catering partners: when you send a request, we share your name, contact details and event details with the partner we recommend so they can contact you with a menu or quote. We may receive a referral fee from that partner.
- AI processing: the trip details you enter are sent to an AI provider (Anthropic) to generate your itinerary. We send trip details only, not your email address.
- Service providers that host and run the site, including form delivery (Formspree), data storage (Supabase), hosting (Vercel), maps (Mapbox) analytics (Google Analytics, PostHog) and advertising measurement (Google Ads). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, if required by law or to protect people or property.
6. Affiliate and Outbound Links
Some links to booking platforms such as VRBO are affiliate links. When you click one you leave our site, and the platform or its affiliate network may set its own cookies to credit the referral. Your booking and any information you give the platform are covered by their privacy policy, not this one.
7. Cookies and Your Choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and you can turn off personalized Google ads in Google's My Ad Center (myadcenter.google.com). Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
8. Data Retention
We keep messages, requests and trip plans for as long as needed to respond and for reasonable recordkeeping, and newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe. After that we delete or anonymize them.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect the information you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and unsubscribe from emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under privacy law. Contact us using the details below.
11. Children's Privacy
The site is meant for adults planning travel. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
