Fourteen Destinations.
One Mountain Range.
The Pocono Mountains are a 2,400-square-mile region of forested plateau, lakes and small towns across four counties of northeastern Pennsylvania: Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne. By car, the region is about two to three hours from New York City and Philadelphia, depending on which end you're headed for, according to the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau's 2026 travel guide. It's a four-season destination: ski slopes in winter, swimming and boating on the lakes in summer, peak foliage in October, and nine Pennsylvania state parks for hiking all year. Pocono Reserve covers 14 of the region's lake and town destinations, with guides to their restaurants, trails, events and nearby stays. Start with a destination guide and build your trip from there.
