Runaway Train Brewery opened in 2023 at 2 Chapel Street in Honesdale, in the building that once housed the Irving Cliff Brewery, right beside the historic Delaware & Hudson rail line. It is operated by Honesdale's Settlers Hospitality group, and the railroad theme carries through the decor and the murals by local artists. The house beer list rotates through about a dozen taps of ales, IPAs, lagers, porters and stouts, served by the pint, by the flight or to go. The full-service kitchen turns out pub food such as smash burgers, wings, a Cuban sandwich and beer-battered fish and chips. Upstairs is a game room with pool and darts, and outside there is a pet-friendly patio with seasonal seating beside the tracks. Live music is offered on select nights, and the brewery also takes private party bookings.
