Camelback Resort Activity Guide: Everything It Offers in One Place

October 16, 2026

Skiing and snow tubing in winter, an outdoor waterpark in summer, an adventure park from spring to fall and an indoor waterpark and arcade all year. Here's what Camelback offers, season by season.

Camelback Resort in Tannersville packs more into one mountain than anywhere else in the Poconos: a 39-trail ski area, snow tubing, an indoor waterpark, a summer outdoor waterpark, a mountainside adventure park, guided UTV tours and an indoor arcade complex. What's open depends on the season, so this guide sorts everything by when you can do it, then covers each attraction and where to eat.

Key Takeaways

  • I.Year-round: Aquatopia, the 125,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, and Arcadia's arcade, laser tag, bowling and VR, both at Camelback Lodge and both open to day visitors.
  • II.Winter: skiing on 39 trails with an 800-foot vertical, plus snow tubing on more than 40 lanes that light up at night.
  • III.Spring to fall: the Mountain Adventure Park, with a treetop course, two ziplines up to 4,000 feet, a mountain coaster and mini golf, plus the Scenic UTV Tour.
  • IV.Summer: Camelbeach, the outdoor waterpark with 37 rides and slides. Its 2026 season is over, and it returns in 2027.
  • V.Right now: The Curse of Camelback, a Halloween experience at Camelbeach, runs through Sunday, November 8.

Skiing and snowboarding

Camelback Mountain Resort has 39 trails across 166 skiable acres, an 800-foot vertical drop and 16 lifts, including a high-speed six-pack and a detachable quad that keep lines moving on busy weekends. The trail mix leans heavily beginner and intermediate, and there are two terrain parks. That makes it a natural choice for a group with mixed abilities, and the adventure park, waterparks and lodge sit right alongside. See our Pocono ski resort comparison for how it stacks up against the other six areas.

Snow tubing

Camelback's snow tubing area has more than 40 lanes that light up at night, and each session lasts two hours, so arrive at least 30 minutes early (Camelback Resort, retrieved 2026-10-11). The height rules matter for families:

  • 44 inches and taller can ride solo.
  • 33 to 43 inches ride a double tube or a linked chain with a participating adult 18 or older.
  • Under 33 inches can't participate.

There's no minimum age, but riders under 14 must be with a participating adult. Reservations are strongly suggested, and last season's tubing ran until April 12.

Aquatopia indoor waterpark

Aquatopia is a 125,000-square-foot indoor waterpark at Camelback Lodge with 13 rides and slides, kept at 84 degrees under a transparent roof that lets in daylight (Camelback Resort, retrieved 2026-10-11). Camelback calls its Storm Chaser the longest indoor water coaster in the world and its Venus SlydeTrap a one-of-a-kind combination slide. There's also an Adventure River that runs underground, a wave pool and a FlowRider surf machine. It's open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. Overnight lodge guests get access with their stay, and day and twilight tickets are sold to everyone else.

Arcadia indoor adventures

When the weather turns, Arcadia Adventures at Camelback Lodge fills a day on its own, and all of it is open to day visitors (Camelback Resort, retrieved 2026-10-11):

  • Arcadia Mega Arcade, near Aquatopia, with ticket redemption. Arcade passes are sold on site.
  • Zero Latency VR, which Camelback calls the only 360-degree free-roam VR arena in the Poconos.
  • Laser tag, bumper cars and Stone Rollers bowling.
  • A 7D motion dark ride and a mirror maze.
  • Two escape rooms, each with a 30-minute time limit.
  • Krazy Darts, an oversized LED dart game.

For more bad-weather ideas around the region, see our rainy day guide.

Mountain Adventure Park

From spring through fall, the Mountain Adventure Park at 243 Resort Drive turns the mountain into a thrill park (Camelback Resort, retrieved 2026-10-11):

  • Treetop Adventures: a three-level course of about three hours that Camelback bills as Pennsylvania's largest treetop course.
  • Ziplines: a 1,000-foot line, or a 4,000-foot run for the full ride. Ziplining starts at $32 per person.
  • Mountain Coaster: a sled-style ride you control yourself, at speeds up to 25 mph, with mountain views on the way down.
  • Mini golf: an 18-hole course.
  • Sunbowl Tubing: downhill tubing in summer, no snow required.

It's an easy half-day stop for a group with mixed appetites for adrenaline, since everyone can pick their own attractions. For more adrenaline around the region, see our Pocono thrill-seeker roundup.

Scenic UTV Tour

The Switchback Scenic UTV Tour takes you onto mountain trails and switchbacks in a six-seat UTV. The whole experience takes about two hours: 30 minutes of training, then roughly an hour on the trail (Camelback Resort, retrieved 2026-10-11). Know the rules before you book:

  • Drivers must be 18 or older with a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Every rider must be at least 62 inches tall.
  • The six-person vehicle has a 1,600-pound combined weight limit.
  • A helmet is provided, closed-toe shoes are required, and tickets and a waiver must be completed online in advance.

Camelbeach outdoor waterpark

In summer, Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark at the base of the mountain has 37 rides and slides, a wave pool and a lazy river, and Camelback bills it as Pennsylvania's largest mountain waterpark (Camelback Resort, retrieved 2026-10-11). It runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day and gets busy on peak summer weekends, so arrive early to claim a spot for the day. The resort's page currently lists it as closed for the 2026 season, with 2027 season passes on sale.

The Curse of Camelback (fall 2026)

Until November 8, Camelbeach turns into a post-apocalyptic Halloween experience called The Curse of Camelback. You board the Sunbowl Lift into a "containment zone" of fog-filled waterpark attractions, tunnels and maze-like paths with costumed characters. It runs from 6 to 10 PM on Thursdays and Sundays, and from 6 PM to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Tours start at Camelback Mountain Adventures, and tickets are sold online.

Hiking Camelback Mountain

The mountain's summit sits inside Big Pocono State Park, and two trails in our hiking guides climb it:

  • Camelback Mountain via Old Railroad Grade, North & South Trails: a difficult 7.2-mile loop with about 954 feet of elevation gain. It starts gently on the historic railroad grade, then climbs rocky switchbacks to views across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York on a clear day. Plan for a full morning or afternoon and bring extra water.
  • Camelback Mountain Loop Trail: a moderate 2.8-mile loop with about 246 feet of gain.

The Summit House restaurant at the top serves comfort food and drinks with panoramic views, but Camelback's own page currently lists it as temporarily closed, so call ahead. Our Big Pocono State Park guide covers the summit drive, trails and history.

Where to eat at Camelback

On-site dining ranges widely in quality, and online ratings are a useful guide:

  • Neptunes at Camelback Lodge is the reliable sit-down choice, rated 4.3 out of 5 from more than 11,800 Google reviews. It's busy, so go early or late.
  • Alta Vida, at 223 Resort Drive, serves modern Mexican food (grilled meats, tacos and moles) at the $$$ level, with a deck overlooking the mountain and a private room. It's open to the public.
  • Trails End Pub & Grill has mountain views and outdoor fire pits for après-ski, though ratings are mixed (3.7 on Google from 879 reviews).
  • Hemispheres (2.9 on Google from 66 reviews), Graffiti Pizza (1.6 from 19 reviews) and the La Colombe Café Bar (2.6 from 48 reviews) are convenience options rather than reasons to stay.

Berrelli's Italian ChopHouse, also on Resort Drive, is a $$$ Italian steakhouse for a special-occasion dinner nearby.

Three ways to plan a Camelback day

  • Winter day: ski or tube in the morning, then Aquatopia in the afternoon and dinner at Neptunes.
  • Summer day: Camelbeach in the morning and the Mountain Adventure Park in the late afternoon, when the park stays open into the evening on some days.
  • Rainy day, any season: Aquatopia plus Arcadia's laser tag, bowling and VR, all under one roof.
