Pocono Wineries and Breweries: 24 Stops, Sorted by Type

August 6, 2026 · Updated October 12, 2026

A farm winery and cidery, a Jim Thorpe session-ale taproom, an all-in-one wine, beer and spirits farm and 21 more stops. Pocono wineries and breweries sorted by type and town, plus how to visit responsibly.

We list 24 wineries, breweries, cideries and distilleries across the Poconos and the neighboring coal region, from a farm winery pressing its own cider to a Jim Thorpe taproom pouring low-alcohol session ales. This guide sorts all 24 by type and town, tells you what we know about each, and is honest about where that information is thin. We don't rank them, so there is no single "best".

Key Takeaways

  • I.Eight stops have detailed records: Barley Creek, Pocono Brewing, Wallenpaupack Brewing, Bright Path, Mountain View, Sorrenti, Ritter's and Yuengling. Most of the rest have a line or two, and three have no description at all.
  • II.Jim Thorpe has the densest cluster: Bright Path, Mauch Chunk Brewery, Nomad Distilling, Mad Hatter, Wild Elder and Cellar Beast.
  • III.Pennsylvania defines a minor as anyone under 21, and the DUI limit starts at 0.08%.
  • IV.Hours, tasting fees and reservations aren't listed here, and neither are drive times. Confirm with each venue before you go.

How we built this list

This is every winery, brewery, cidery and distillery, not a ranking. Venues with full descriptions get their own paragraph, and venues with little detail get a one-line entry. Where details are missing, we say so rather than guess. Types are as listed, or taken from the venue's name where no type is given, and "town" comes from each venue's address.

Wineries and cideries

Sorrenti Family Estate Winery in Saylorsburg is a family-run winery and distillery on a working farm, with an on-site pizzeria, extensive tasting flights and vineyard views from the tasting room. It's a popular stop on the Pocono wine trail, and the flights make it a good place for a group to sample broadly before buying bottles.

Ritter's Winery & Cidery, near Lake Ariel in Jefferson Township, is a working farm that makes fruit wines and hard ciders from apples grown on-site, with a farm-stand-style tasting room. It's a lower-key, more rustic stop than the area's larger wine-trail destinations.

Radical Wine Company in Lehighton has more than 20 wines and offers mix-and-match flights of draft beer, slushies, sangrias and wine-infused soft-serve ice cream, year round.

Three Hammers Winery in Hawley has an indoor tasting room and outdoor seating. That's all our record says.

More stops, with only brief details:

Pennsylvania's limited winery license covers wineries producing less than 200,000 gallons a year, and lets them sell their products for on- or off-premises consumption. It also says limited wineries may offer tastings at no charge or charge for them (PLCB, Limited Wineries, retrieved October 6, 2026), so ask about tasting fees.

Breweries

Bright Path Brewing in Jim Thorpe is a multi-generational, locally owned brewery that specializes in low-ABV, session-style ales. Its taproom is in the historic district, and a rotating food truck sits out front, so there's usually something to eat on-site. It's an easy add-on to a Jim Thorpe shopping or dining day.

Wallenpaupack Brewing Company in downtown Hawley brews small-batch beer a short walk from Lake Wallenpaupack's shops and restaurants. It has rotating seasonal releases and a regularly changing tap list, and its small-batch approach keeps the lineup more experimental than a larger regional producer's.

Barley Creek Brewing Company in Tannersville is one of the Poconos' longest-running craft breweries, pairing house-brewed ales and lagers with a full restaurant menu in a rustic, family-friendly setting near Camelback. It's a natural apres-ski or post-adventure-park stop.

Pocono Brewing Company in Swiftwater is a taproom and restaurant that brews small-batch craft beer on-site, with a full kitchen menu and a patio that stays busy through the warmer months.

Jam Room Brewing Company serves house-made bites alongside live music and is in Greentown. Log Tavern Brewing Company has a Milford location and a Tafton location, and the Tafton one has an outdoor beer garden that allows leashed pets.

More breweries, where details are brief:

Pennsylvania's brewery (G) license lets a brewery produce and sell malt or brewed beverages for on- or off-premises consumption (PLCB, Brewery License Fast Facts, retrieved October 6, 2026).

All-in-one spots, a distillery and a history stop

Mountain View Vineyard, Winery, Brewery & Distillery in Stroudsburg makes wine, craft beer and spirits on the same farm property, with a full restaurant, live music and mountain views from the outdoor patio. That combination is rare in the region. It's a choice for a group with varied drink preferences who don't want several stops.

Nomad Distilling Co., on Race Street in Jim Thorpe, is a craft distillery.

Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville is a trip beyond the Poconos. It was founded in 1829 by David G. Yuengling, is America's oldest operating brewery and is still family-owned six generations later. It runs free 75-minute tours several times a day through hand-dug 19th-century fermentation caves, the restored original brewhouse and the bottling line, ending with a tasting of two beers. It's wise to book ahead with the brewery, since weekend tour slots fill quickly.

Visiting responsibly

Pennsylvania law defines a minor as a person under 21, according to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's guidance on minors on licensed premises (PLCB, Minors on the Licensed Premises, updated 05/2017, retrieved October 6, 2026). Ask each venue about its own policy before bringing children or pets.

Plan the drive before you taste. Pennsylvania's legal limit is 0.08%, and the state sets higher penalty tiers at 0.10% and 0.16% (PennDOT/PA DMV, .08 DUI legislation, retrieved October 6, 2026). The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism says a standard drink is a 12-ounce regular beer at about 5% alcohol, a 5-ounce glass of table wine at about 12%, or 1.5 ounces of 40% spirits, and that some craft beers reach about 10%, so the size of a pour alone doesn't tell you its strength (NIAAA, What Is A Standard Drink?, retrieved October 6, 2026). A tasting flight is several pours, so count them. Choose a designated driver or a ride before you leave.

Frequently asked questions

How many Pocono wineries and breweries are there?

We list 24: 11 breweries, 10 wineries or cideries, one wine shop, one distillery and one combined winery, brewery and distillery. One of the breweries, Yuengling in Pottsville, is outside the Poconos.

Which Pocono breweries have food?

Barley Creek and Pocono Brewing have full restaurant menus, Mountain View has a full restaurant, Bright Path has a rotating food truck, and Jam Room serves house-made bites. Sorrenti has an on-site pizzeria.

Which wineries have tasting flights?

Sorrenti offers extensive tasting flights, and Radical Wine Company offers mix-and-match flights. Pennsylvania lets limited wineries offer tastings for free or for a fee, so ask each venue.

Are Pocono wineries and breweries open year round?

One of the Poconos' longest-running craft breweries, pairing house-brewed ales and lagers with a full restaurant menu in a rustic, family-friendly setting near Camelback. The brewery's tenure in the region gives it a well-established, reliably good lineup of house beers, and the full restaurant menu means it works as a complete meal stop rather than just a tasting. Its proximity to Camelback makes it a natural apres-ski or post-adventure-park stop for a group already in the area.

Blue Ridge Estate Vineyard & Winery sits on Blue Ridge Road in Saylorsburg, on a hillside property with views over its vineyard rows, the surrounding mountains and an adjacent Christmas tree farm. Started by the Detrick family, it makes small-batch wines across a broad range: dry and sweet reds, whites, rosés, specialty blends and sangria. The main building has a long wine bar, a wraparound deck and a large patio, and visitors are free to walk among the vines. Food centers on brick-oven pizza and cheese boards, with catered dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. Live music runs on weekends, and a private Underground Room offers a smaller curated tasting with snacks. The winery is open year-round, which makes it a reliable option in the off-season. Blue Ridge also runs retail stores in Tannersville and the Lehigh Valley.

A multi-generational, locally owned Jim Thorpe brewery specializing in low-ABV, session-style ales, with a taproom in the historic district and a rotating food truck out front. The focus on session-style, lower-alcohol beers makes it a good stop for an afternoon of steady drinking without the effects of higher-ABV craft beer, and the rotating food truck means there's usually something to eat on-site without needing to plan a separate meal. Its historic-district taproom location makes it an easy add-on to a Jim Thorpe shopping or dining day.

Cellar Beast Winehouse in Jim Thorpe is the satellite tasting room of Cellar Beast, a veteran- and woman-owned winery founded in 2021 in Andreas, in Schuylkill County. It opened in May 2026 inside The Y on Broadway hotel at 69 Broadway, in the center of the historic district. The wines are made in Pennsylvania from grapes bought from West Coast vineyards, mostly in Washington and Oregon, in a French-influenced, fruit-focused style. The list covers reds such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, along with Chardonnay, rosé and sparkling wine. Guests can order a glass, share a bottle or work through a tasting, and a small selection of beer and cocktails covers anyone not drinking wine. An outdoor patio looks onto downtown Broadway. Visitors who want to see where the wine is made can continue on to the main winery in Andreas.

Here & Now Brewing Company is a 7-barrel brewery and restaurant on Main Street in downtown Honesdale, set in the former Woolworth's building. The interior keeps the exposed brick and original tin ceiling, with custom murals and a wood-topped bar. Beer is brewed on site and sold only here, and the rotating list runs from crisp lagers and IPAs to stouts and farmhouse ales, with house-made hard sodas and teas as well. A one-barrel system is used for small experimental batches. The kitchen cooks from scratch and buys from local farms when it can; the menu changes, but pizza is a staple. There is also a craft cocktail bar and a gift shop stocked with locally made goods and curated beer. Weekly programming has included trivia and live jazz and other music, which makes it a good evening stop after walking Main Street.

Jam Room Brewing Co. is a music-themed brewery and taproom on Creamery Road in Greentown, just off Interstate 84 along Route 507 in the Pocono Lake Region. It was started by five longtime friends who wanted to combine craft beer and live music, and in 2023 the brewery installed a new 10-barrel brewing system. The house list rotates through session ales, a brown ale, IPAs, a lager, a golden ale, a hefeweizen and stouts, along with cider and seasonal collaborations. Food comes from Sound Bites, the restaurant inside the brewery, which serves shareable plates, sandwiches, nachos and mac and cheese, plus a kids' menu. Live performances by local and regional acts are central to the place, and the schedule is posted on the brewery's website. A patio adds outdoor seating in warm weather. It is a practical stop for families and groups in the Lake Wallenpaupack area.

Log Tavern Brewing Co. opened its Milford taproom in November 2018, founded by Ryan Scott and Joe Fischer after years of homebrewing. The brewery occupies a converted light-industrial building on East Harford Street that the owners largely built out themselves, with hand-welded bar stools, reclaimed schoolhouse slate and other salvaged materials giving it a rustic, log-cabin feel. The wooded site overlooks Raymondskill Ridge and Sawkill Creek, and the outdoor area has fire pits and open seating. All Log Tavern beer is brewed here, and the tap list rotates through IPAs, hazy IPAs, stouts, cream ales, sours and seasonal releases. Food is limited to casual snacks such as personal pizzas and pretzels, so plan dinner elsewhere in Milford. Live music is a regular feature. The same beers are also poured at the brewery's larger second taproom in Tafton, near Lake Wallenpaupack.

The Tafton taproom is Log Tavern Brewing Co.'s second location, opened in 2024 on Route 390 a few minutes from Lake Wallenpaupack. All of the beer is brewed at the original Milford brewery, so the tap list carries the same house range of IPAs, hazy IPAs, stouts, wheat beers and cream ales, along with wine, mixed drinks and four-packs to go. The property covers more than nine acres, and the timber-frame taproom opens onto a large outdoor area with a stone fireplace, fire pits and two covered pavilions that add seating and host live music. The kitchen keeps it simple with personal pizzas, pretzels, empanadas and snacks, and local food trucks rotate through on weekends. It suits a stop after a day on the lake or a relaxed evening outdoors with a group.

The Mad Hatter Winery & Smokehouse is a family-owned restaurant and wine bar at 111 Broadway in Jim Thorpe that pairs its own wines, made from local grapes, with smoked meats and seafood. The decor plays on the Alice in Wonderland theme its name suggests. The menu centers on the smoker, with pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, ribs, and smoked salmon and catfish, supported by soups, salads, sides, and gluten-free and vegetarian options. Sundays start with a breakfast service, and there is live entertainment on weekends. Seating includes an outdoor porch, and the restaurant welcomes both families and dogs, which makes it one of the easier sit-down meals on Broadway for groups traveling with children or pets. It is closed early in the week, so check the schedule before planning a visit around it.

Mauch Chunk Brewery is a small brewery and taproom at 67 Race Street in the historic center of Jim Thorpe, named for the town's original name. It is one of the newer places to drink in town, appearing in 2025. The house list sticks mostly to approachable styles: IPAs including a hazy version, lagers and a pilsner, a wheat beer named for Race Street, a bock and a seasonal Oktoberfest. House ciders, including a honey lavender cider, give non-beer drinkers an option. The kitchen serves comfort food for dine-in or takeout, and there is limited outdoor seating. Race Street runs off Broadway, so it is an easy addition to a walk through the downtown shops and restaurants, and it works well for a casual lunch or an afternoon pint between other stops in town.

Nomad Distilling Co. is a family-owned craft distillery founded in 2018 by Frank and Sarah Kudlack, who bought the former Mountain Top Distillery outside Williamsport and named the business after their own moves around the country. The Jim Thorpe tasting room opened in 2022 and is one of several, alongside Williamsport and New Hope. It works as a tasting bar and bottle shop: visitors can sample the roughly ten house spirits, order a mixed cocktail, or buy bottles, canned cocktails and gift boxes to take home. The range covers bourbon and whiskey, a bramble that blends wine and spirit, and several flavored moonshines, with seasonal releases rotating through. It is a compact stop that fits easily between other downtown visits. The Kudlacks have deepened their ties to the town since opening and in 2025 also bought Kelly Suites on Broadway, a small historic inn.

The combination of on-site brewing and a genuine kitchen menu makes it a reasonable dinner stop as much as a beer destination, and the patio is a popular spot to linger on a warm evening. It's a solid, lower-key alternative to the region's bigger-name breweries.

RAW Urban Winery & Hard Cidery opened on Main Street in downtown Stroudsburg in 2015 and describes itself as the Poconos' first urban winery. It is run by winemaker Matthew, a Stroudsburg native, and his wife Misty, who makes the hard ciders. The wines are made in a Napa style and include Misty Love, an oak-aged Cabernet blend, a Malbec called 98, a Super Tuscan-style blend, Pinot Grigio and Moscato. The small-batch ciders use foraged herbs and organic flowers: Sweet Gypsy is made with hibiscus and honey, and Oaky O'Shea is aged in whiskey barrels and finished with local maple syrup. The wines are vegan and the ciders gluten-free. Wine is served by the glass, the bottle or as a tasting, with cider on tap. The same space runs the RAW Organic Coffee Bar, serving coffee, matcha, chai and mocktails. The Sherman Theater is a short walk away.

Radical Wine Company is an urban-style winery in Mahoning Township, just outside Lehighton, founded in 2014 by Brandon and Kate Borger. Working like a craft brewery, it sources grapes from established growing regions and makes small batches on site, with a list of roughly 20 wines that leans toward sweet and semi-sweet styles but includes dry reds and whites. Several specialty wines raise money for local animal shelters and rescues. Beyond wine by the glass, the menu covers sangrias, wine slushies, Pennsylvania draft beer and cocktails. A popular novelty is the float flight: wine-infused soft-serve ice cream topped with a choice of wines or sangrias. Seating is first come, first served, indoors and outdoors. The winery hosts live music and food truck nights through the year, so check the schedule if you want to eat on site.

A working farm winery and cidery near Lake Ariel producing fruit wines and hard ciders from apples grown on-site, with a tasting room that keeps a genuine farm-stand feel. The focus on fruit wines and hard ciders, rather than traditional grape wines alone, gives the tasting menu a distinctive regional character built around what actually grows on the property. It's a lower-key, more rustic stop than some of the area's larger wine-trail destinations, which is part of its appeal.

Runaway Train Brewery opened in 2023 at 2 Chapel Street in Honesdale, in the building that once housed the Irving Cliff Brewery, right beside the historic Delaware & Hudson rail line. It is operated by Honesdale's Settlers Hospitality group, and the railroad theme carries through the decor and the murals by local artists. The house beer list rotates through about a dozen taps of ales, IPAs, lagers, porters and stouts, served by the pint, by the flight or to go. The full-service kitchen turns out pub food such as smash burgers, wings, a Cuban sandwich and beer-battered fish and chips. Upstairs is a game room with pool and darts, and outside there is a pet-friendly patio with seasonal seating beside the tracks. Live music is offered on select nights, and the brewery also takes private party bookings.

Three Hammers Winery makes small-batch wines on a restored 15-acre homestead on Welcome Lake Road outside Hawley, in the Pocono Lake Region. Wines are handcrafted on site in a classic style, and the list includes Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and an oaked Chardonnay, with seasonal releases. Tastings in the rustic-chic tasting room feature rotating selections. The grounds are a large part of the visit: a pond with Adirondack chairs, a nature trail and patio seating in summer, and a stone fireplace with heated outdoor seating in winter. Live musicians play most Saturdays in season, and the winery also hosts art receptions and sip-and-paint events. Food is light, built around cheese boxes and boards from its sister shop, Milford Wine & Cheese Co. The 1820 Hammer House on the property is available as a vacation rental.

Tolino's list runs from dry varietals such as Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio to rosé and sweeter fruit-forward blends, served by the glass, by the bottle or in tasting flights. The bar also pours local craft beer on draft, Pennsylvania spirits and seasonal cocktails, along with sangria and wine slushies. Food is light, centered on cheese plates and chocolate pairings. Wild Elder Wine and Cider Co. is a small winery and cidery with a tasting room at 76 Broadway in Jim Thorpe's historic district, run by winemaker Josh Finsel and Amber Finsel. Finsel learned folk winemaking from his father, and the business makes wine and cider from native, wild and locally grown fruit, herbs and flowers from the Lehigh River Valley. Elderberry is the signature fruit, used in its wines and in a sparkling Elderberry Cider Brut, alongside an Apple Cider Brut made in a dry, champagne style. Other pours have included dandelion, black currant and blueberry ciders and grape wines. The tasting room serves flights, cider cocktails and mocktails, with an eatery menu that includes charcuterie and desserts. Wine & More on 1st is a tasting room in a historic 14,000-square-foot former furniture store on South First Street in downtown Lehighton, opened in May 2021 by owner Tina Henninger. It does not make its own wine. Instead it pours and sells wines from Stone Mountain Wine Cellars, a family farm winery in Pine Grove, ranging from very dry reds to sweet fruit wines, along with local spirits and wine slushies. The same building houses its sister business, Carbon Craft Beer Taproom, which pours Pennsylvania craft beer. The approach is try before you buy: samples first, then a glass or a bottle. There is no kitchen, and guests are welcome to bring their own food or order from nearby restaurants. Well-behaved pets are allowed. The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau currently lists it as temporarily closed for renovations, with plans to reopen in 2027 with a brewery, winery and new food options, so check before visiting.
